地震!

If anything... the Earthquakes do not seem to be letting up. According to the news, it will continue for the next 2 days and there is a possibility of it exceeding magnitude 5. It should be an interesting experience... I just learnt today that APU is built to withstand up to magnitude 7.5 quakes... haha. There have been over 30 quakes so far, with 10 of them hitting at least magnitude 3... its school life as usual though... so I guess there is really nothing to be worried about. This is Japan, afterall... earthquakes are part of life.

地震だ!俺の初めての地震の経験!It was the first time in my life experiencing an actual earthquake... and it happened right after coming back to APU from Okinawa! Well, thankfully it was a rather mild quake (ave. 4 on the richter scale) for my first experience! Everyone is fine... just lots of screaming girls... haha!

Homestay + 日田川開き観光際

Once again a temporary post to keep people updated while I sort out photos and videos. I did a homestay over the weekend @ Hita city. It also so happened that there was a rather big festival held there at that time - 日田川開き観光際 (hita kawa biraki kankousai).

The highlights of the festival must have been the 花火(hanabi - fireworks) display which were held on both Saturday and Sunday night, each lasting more than an hour and each involving more than 5000 fireworks.

I have 4 exams this week so pardon me as I take my time to put up photos and more videos...

In the meantime... watch this short 2 minute clipout of the 80 minutes that I witnessed on that night.

Lousy video quality, electric cables and an endless stream of people walking past... but still superb!
